Privacy Policy

Folio ("we", "us") is a personal reading tracker. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.
What we collect
- Account info — if you create an account, your email address (and, for Apple/Google sign-in, the name your provider shares). Used to sign you in and sync your data.
- Your reading data — the books, reading sessions, ratings, and journal entries you add. Stored on your device and, if you sign in, synced to your account so you can use Folio across devices.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active Folio+ subscription, to unlock premium features.
- An anonymous device identifier — a random ID used only to prevent duplicate votes on our feedback board. It is not linked to your identity.
We do not collect your contacts, location, photos (beyond a cover image you choose to add), or browsing activity.
How we use it
Only to provide the app: sign-in, syncing your library, unlocking Folio+, sending the daily reminder you opt into, and improving Folio based on aggregate feedback. We never use your data for advertising or sell it to anyone.
Service providers
- Supabase — authentication and secure storage of your synced data.
- RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play — to process and validate Folio+ subscriptions.
- Open Library and Google Books — to look up book details and covers when you search or scan. We send only your search text, not personal data.
Your choices & rights
- Export your entire library anytime (Settings → Your data → Export).
- Delete your account and all associated data permanently from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete). This removes your account and synced data from our servers.
- Use Folio without an account — your data simply stays on your device.
Children
Folio is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll revise the date above. Material changes will be noted in the app.

Terms of Use
Folio is provided "as is" for personal, non-commercial use. Folio+ is an auto-renewing subscription ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers; payment is charged to your Apple ID (iOS) or Google Play account (Android) at confirmation and renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. On iOS, the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.
